Parenting is a full time job and parents who give birth to a
child definitely know that they have a role to play in ensuring that their
child grows up into a responsible adult.A newborn brings a bundle of joy to any
family and this calls for celebrations.Any parent wants what is best for their
child but at times it becomes hard to understand whether some children sees the
concern of their parents as far as their welfare is concerned.
Just a few days ago,we were treated to some shocking news of
a twenty five years old young man who stabbed his father about eighteen times
who then succumbed to these injuries while undergoing treatment in the hospital.According
to the reports given ,an argument ensued between the father and his son after
the former inquired why he failed to take his exams in the flight course that
he was undertaking.
Such a simple question cost a father his life,taken by the
son who would even have killed the sister who tried to stop him from attacking
their father only that she ran off and locked herself up in the bedroom.There
are other reports that the young man had still abandoned another course incomplete but with his father determined to have his son to acquire a
career,he still took him to a different course.
Such an incident makes one wonder who is failing who or who
is to blame because this is an indication something is wrong in the family
setting that we have because there has been other incidents where children have
killed their parents.Is it that at times parents have very high expectations of
what their children ought to achieve or have the children become too arrogant
such that they think that their parents have no business in what they do or not
do?
Whatever the case something is very wrong because no parent
who has watched his son or daughter grow up would ever think that the same
child would the same reason for his resting in the grave.Let’s look what really
changes especially the relationship with our children as they grow up.
